A paint deck was created with sheets of masonite stapled down on to the stage. They were base-coated with a light cream, and then snap-lined to suggest 6” and 8” wide planks.

 Each board was painted individually using a wet-blend technique.

The stair unit was requested in a darker color scheme. A base coat of dark brown was followed by a red glaze and highlights, sealed with semi-gloss poly.

Window

A knee wall with a fragmented window also helped to suggest the look of the outside of the house. A white base coat was then distressed with watered-down black, brown, and touches of green to recreate mold.

Made to match the existing furniture pieces of the design, this custom-made cabinet was based-coated in a light brown and then grained with a darker tone, using dry-brush technique.
