Base coat with light cream/ latex white.
A first layer of warm brown was applied, followed by a layer of a lighter tone, sponged all over the dried surface. The grout was then outlined in black, with variations in shape and size.
A thin layer of glazes in four different tones was scumbled individually to each rock, to create enough variety, and break any possible patterns or repetitions.
Highlight and shadow were added to each rock, followed by a light spatter.
Base color in a medium, warm brown.
Grained with a dark-brown glaze using rockers, and the blocking technique.
A final layer of spatter with a darker tone was done over the pieces.
Base coat of medium brown, and dry-brushed with a watered-down white.
Lining of the platform’s floor with watered-down black, to simulate wood planks.
Dry brush over it, with orange and grey glazes.
Base coat in light brown.
Scumble over with three different tones, to achieve variation all over the fireplace, before lining in the grout. Sponged in some dark spots using a water-downed black. Highlight and shadow over the grout and high relief pieces.
Base coat in medium brown.
Same treatment as column pedestals: base coat in medium brown. Several layers of spatter in four different tones were applied next, and then slightly scumbled to achieve the stone-like texture.
