Studio Theatre at Virginia Tech, Fall 2016.
A two-act play, with a time jump of fifty years in between. The solution from the set design for this transition became the changing of the stair unit during intermission. The stairs of act one, with pristine railing and mahogany wood work, were replaced by a stair in progress: the original wainscoting had been removed, revealing an age mark on the wall; a simpler, half-built railing with clumsy re-styling from the contractor now runs through the side. The China cabinet is gone, too, revealing an unpainted mark. The whole re-decoration process of the house has been done so careless, that instead of a new, modern house, it looks more like the ruins of a falling-apart memory.
